KTV gets down to business tonight
Tonight Channel Five’s Ultimate KTV gets down to the nitty-gritty. It’s the opener of eight first-round matchups featuring our returning finalists from the last five years and thirteen newcomers who have survived auditions and last week’s scrutiny by our panel of judges. But this show will be different, because now it’s the public’s turn to take charge. We’ll get the details in a minute but first here’s a preview of tonight’s contestants.
[Contestants singing: Louis Maskall 2003 Champion; Vanya Garcia 2002 finalist; Ronald Casimiro 2006 Runner-up; and Denise Castillo, KTV Challenger]
As for the voting, here’s how it works: Votes can only be made on a cell phone using the digicell system. You simply send a text message consisting of a single number. One for Louis Maskall, two for Vanya Garcia, three for Ronald Casimiro, and four for Denise Castillo. Send that text message to ‘KTV’, that’s the number 588. When your message is sent you should receive a text confirmation. That’s all there is to it. The voting opens at nine tonight and stays open until midnight on Sunday night. The votes will be electronically tallied and confirmed by auditors and on next Tuesday’s show the winner will be announced. Viewers are reminded that each text message costs fifty cents plus tax.
