Corpse on caye remains unidentified

Tonight, police are asking the public’s assistance in identifying the body of a man found dead on a caye off the coast of the Belize District. According to official reports, around two this afternoon the partly decomposed corpse was found near a camp in the Bluefield Range of islands. Initial investigations have led officers to suspect that the dead man was a watchman living in the area who goes by the name Ramirez and is also known as “Dragon”. Anyone who can assist investigators is asked to please contact the nearest police station. The Bluefield range is located approximately eighteen miles south-southeast of Belize City. Due to the state of the corpse police have not yet been able to determine if foul play was involved. A post-mortem will be conducted tomorrow.
