Store owner robbed of cash, gun
In Belize City, an armed robbery has netted thieves cash and a loaded weapon. Forty- four year old Chang Huant has reported to police that around one-fifteen on Thursday afternoon she was manning the counter of Yues Shop on Iguana Street Extension when two men walked into the store and ordered two shilling bags of water. But the owner says as she was about to serve the customers, one of the men pulled out a handgun and demanded money. They got about one hundred dollars in cash but more disturbingly, the duo also stole a black Smith and Wesson nine millimetre pistol and a magazine containing ten rounds. Chang tried to put up a fight, but one of her attackers pistol whipped her, causing injuries to her face. The victim was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where she remains in stable condition.
