O.W. constable arrested for domestic violence

Police in Orange Walk have arrested a fellow officer following a report by their colleague’s wife. According to authorities, Leticia Romero and her husband Pedro separated and relations between the couple deteriorated to the point where the woman obtained a protection order against the cop. But it is now alleged that on June fifteenth, the police officer violated the court order by showing up at his wife’s house and threatening her and the babysitter with a machete. Following a month long investigation, today thirty-one year old Pedro Romero was charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault and Breach of a Protection Order. He has been interdicted from duty pending the outcome of the trial.
