Cologne steals politician’s paraphernalia
And while independent candidate, Richard Smith is just getting started, in the Lake Independence Division, the U.D.P.’s Mark King has been campaigning for months. But his campaign suffered a setback when materials worth a thousand dollars were stolen and his billboards were damaged over the weekend. Political mischief is a part of every election, but today King’s report landed before the courts. It seems that the perpetrator left a strong scent that the cops were able to pickup. Thirty-one year old Norris Leslie, also known as “Cologne” appeared before Magistrate Sherigne Rodriguez and was charged for Theft and Damage to Property. Allegations are that on Sunday Cologne stole six sheets of lumber and four sheets of plywood from King. He is also accused of vandalizing four campaign billboards. Cologne pleaded not guilty to both charges and bail was granted in the sum of two thousand dollars, which he met before noon today. His next court appearance is scheduled for March twenty-seventh.
