Trapp and Sampson receive 10 year sentences
They were found guilty of robbery and rape and today Derrick Sampson and Michael Trapp learned that they will spend the next ten years behind bars. The sentences were handed down by Justice Troadio Gonzalez after hearing mitigation pleas. On July nineteenth Sampson was convicted on two counts of robbery and one count of rape, while Trapp was found guilty of two counts of robbery and one count of abetment to rape. Each count carried a sentence of ten years in prison, but Gonzalez ordered the sentences to run concurrently. Just past midnight on May thirteenth of last year the pair robbed a couple and raped the young woman at the seawall near the Marine Parade roundabout.
