…While latest to be burned out seeks help

Story PictureThe families at San Cas Plaza were not the only fire victims in need of help. Today twenty-two year old Gregory Harris visited our studios to appeal for the public’s assistance after the house the family was renting on Louise Bevans Street in Port Loyola was destroyed by fire on Tuesday night. The blaze, believed to have been caused by an electrical problem in a switch box, quickly engulfed the upper floor of the two-storey wooden building.

Gregory Harris, Fire Victim
“The fire start from my sister room from the switchbox. “I understand that for the moment you guys are split up staying at different people’s houses in the neighbourhood, but in terms of replacing some of the things that was lost, you have not been successful. What assistance the family needs right now?”

Gregory Harris
“We would like if the area rep could come in and give we assistance or the public, anything weh they could give we, we would really appreciate.”

The owner of the house presently resides in the United States. Although the property was insured, none of the Harris’s personal belongings were covered. If you can help the family replace any of the items lost, please give Gregory a call at 660-9800 or make a financial donation into Atlantic Bank account number 210-702-1134. On Friday, the Harris family will be at the site at number 4272 Louise Bevans Street if you would like to extend a helping hand.
