Where is Julissa Westby who accused cops?
A phone and assorted jewelry that were allegedly stolen from the police exhibit room last March resulted in two police women being placed on interdiction and charged with Theft. Back then, the outraged complainant, Julissa Westby, took her plight to the media but today she was nowhere to be found for the case to get underway before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer. The court prosecutor was unable to proceed without the main witness and thirty year old Police Constable Nicholette Bermudez was freed of the charge. According to the police prosecutor, Westby has failed to show up on several occasions and today was her last chance. Westby had claimed that on March sixteenth when she was detained along with her boyfriend for a small amount of weed, she handed over her personal items. When she was released, she was only given back a bag with her clothes and ID, but her jewelry and phone were missing. PC Andrea Rivero was charged days later, but Bermudez wasn’t arraigned until June sixth, 2011. Bermudez has maintained her innocence and claims she had just arrived at work when Westby approached her, asking for her belongings. The charges against Rivero were previously withdrawn.
