Men charged for Overnight Kidnapping of Mexican Diplomat

A Mexican Diplomat was the victim of a horrific kidnapping and robbery last week. Today, five men were taken before the courts on numerous charges in connection with the abduction of fifty year old Domingo Rodriguez Semerena. Three of them; eighteen year old Delton Jeffords, twenty-five year old Noel Alamina and twenty-four year old Roque Middleton were jointly charged for Kidnapping, Conspiracy to Commit Kidnapping and Robbery. Alamina and Middleton were additionally charged with Handling Stolen Goods since they were found in possession of Rodriguez’ 2007 Audi SUV and cell phone.

The other two accused men are twenty-three year old Derrick Sanchez and thirty-six year old Ralph Middleton who were also charged with Handling Stolen Goods after being caught with Rodriguez’ fuel receipt book and vehicle keys. All five men were denied bail and Chief Magistrate Ann Marie Smith remanded them to prison until April twenty-fifth. Rodriguez reported that on Tuesday he was dropping off a friend at a house on an unknown street. But when the friend exited the vehicle, two other men entered.  One of them, who was armed with a gun ordered Rodriguez go to the back seat and they drove off with him.  He was taken to another house where he was tied up and left until Thursday morning when he was abandoned in a swampy area off the Northern Highway. Rodriguez was robbed of his phone, gold chain, cash and his vehicle.
