In addition to three murders, two persons were shot in the Old Capital. And luckily for the two men involved, their injuries weren’t serious. According to the police, on Sunday night two persons were shot in their legs when a wild gunman started shooting at the corner of Kut Avenue and Euphrates Avenue. “On Sunday the eighteenth of March 2012, acting on information received at approximately 6:15 p.m., police visited the K.H.M.H. where they saw George Slusher, a carpenter of corner Euphrates and Kut Avenue in Belize City suffering from a gunshot wound to the right leg and also Shakeem Humes also of a Belize City address suffering from a gunshot wound to the left leg. Initial investigations revealed that at about 7 o’clock that same evening, Shakeem Humes was riding his bike on Euphrates Avenue and upon turning into Kut Avenue, he was fired upon by an unidentified male, dressed in black clothing and wearing a warm cap over his head and covering his face—that actually caused these injuries. He fired several shots at them causing the injuries. George Slusher was actually sitting in his yard when he was shot accidentally to his leg as well.”
