Man charged for growing 10ft high cannabis in his yard
Plues Street is not known for flourishing gardens, but one resident has shown his skills for growing weed rather than pulling them out of his garden. Unfortunately for forty-one year old Andrew Murillo, the five plants which measured from four to a massive ten feet in height are of the Cannabis Sativa variety. And though they towered in his back yard, Murillo told Magistrate Tracy Sosa at his arraignment today, that he had no idea that the plants were there until the police woke him up and informed him of the discovery. Murillo eventually pleaded guilty to the charge of Unlawfully Cultivating the Cannabis Plants. But after hearing his explanation, Magistrate Sosa entered an equivocal plea on Murillo’s behalf of “Not Guilty” and offered him bail in the sum of five thousand dollars plus one surety of the same amount. Murillo was unable to meet bail and was remanded to the Hattieville prison until September twenty-ninth.
