Yard sale proceeds to help Crime Stoppers programmes
By all accounts, Belizeans love a good deal … and that’s exactly what visitors to a yard sale set take place at Old Belize on Saturday are going to get. The event is a fundraiser to support the administration of Crime Stoppers and for payment of rewards. This afternoon board member Francis Woods gave us a sneak peak of the items on sale.

“We’re doing it a little different from last time, which was an auction. This time we want folks to have a lot of time to browse the things that we have for sale and they can negotiate with the Crime Stoppers people and purchase it.”

“You’ll have a wide range of items?”
Francis Woods
“We have, amazing the variety of stuff, bikes, housing materials, construction materials, vehicles boats, too many to mention.”
“Most of them have been donated. Support from business houses is excellent. We have a lot of donated stuff. We have from individuals who are moving homes and we have a lot of stuff that they are not taking into the their homes and some businesses and just taking stuff that are hard movers, so they give a us a super discounted price and we will be selling it at just a little mark up to make money for Crime Stoppers.”
The yard sale starts at nine a.m. and runs until about five.
