P.M. leads delegation to Washington conference
Prime Minister Said Musa is in Washington, D.C. leading a delegation of public and private sector officials to the heavily hyped conference on the Caribbean. The three-day series of meetings will hopefully outline a new long-term vision for relations between the U.S. and Caribbean region. In today’s afternoon session P.M. Musa made a presentation on the international competitive position of Caribbean states. Other members of the delegation joined their CARICOM colleagues in a meeting with members of the U.S. Congress, while on Wednesday heads of government will sit down for talks with U.S. President George Bush at the State Department. Among the topics for discussion are trade, security, crime, energy, and assistance for Haiti.
