Dancehall artists arrive for Sat. show

This weekend, dancehall fans will invade San Ignacio for a one night show featuring Jamaican singers Alaine and Mr. Vegas. The duo arrived in Belize this afternoon and stopped by our studios to give fans a sample of their performances.

[Alaine singing]

Alaine
“I’m so excited to be in Belize. I’ve always wanted to visit here and I’m happy that my music took me here, I can’t wait to meet all my Belizean fans and everybody, so I’m happy to be here.”

“I sing about love and having fun and I think that people that are in love can appreciate it, people that have ever been in love or want to be in love, yeah it’s a universal message, love and vibes and nuff fun.”

Janelle Chanona
“Now that you’re here, have you made plans to come back for some R and R too?”

Alaine
“I need it in my life. I need Belize in my life. I need more of it. I’m just here for a short time, it’s one show only, tomorrow night, but yeah, definitely I’ll be back.”

Mr. Vegas
“We are good artists and we’re professional people, so the show is basically like a make-up show and to have Alaine in the show now with Mr. Vegas with all them hit tune and sexy tune, it’s a better deal and right now Mr. Vegas have more hit tune since the last time to now. It’s like two months and more hit tune already, so everything is more crazy. Saturday night is gonna be even more crazy.”

“What you wah do to mek sure it’s hype?”

Mr. Vegas
“Just come out and enjoy it and Mr. Vegas is going to put out a hundred and twenty percent, twenty percent make-up for the last time and hundred percent for Saturday night, so everything is going to be good, trust me.”

“Well noh knock out yourself too much cause you no wah end up dah hospital yah…”

Mr. Vegas
“No man, I good, I ready for any Belize girl weh want tek me on right now.”

“Give we wah lee sample ah how good, you good then.”

“We have some of the biggest sounds in Belize that’s going to be at the show. We have a couple Belizean artists lined up and it’s straight into the big show. It’s at the Cahal Pech setting, so we want to have it as much fun as we can with Alaine and Vegas.”

“Right now we have tickets at Venus Belmopan, San Ignacio, and we’ll be having tickets tonight at the Putt Putt.”

Alaine and Mr. Vegas are scheduled to make appearances at the Putt Putt Bar and Grill tonight prior to the show on Saturday night in San Ignacio.
