Compol to send Aikman file to D.P.P.
Two weeks after the bizarre kidnapping of Derek Aikman, tonight investigators tell News Five that the Director of Public Prosecutions will be handed all the evidence early next week. According to Commissioner of Police Gerald Westby, their next step will be to follow the D.P.P.’s advice.

“As I have said, the file is almost completed and it is my directive this morning that that file should reach the D.P.P.’s office no later than Monday for further directives, perusal, and further directives.”
In other police news, this morning ComPol Westby also commented on the arrest of one of his officers in a fuel scam that cost the department more than one hundred and seventy-five thousand dollars.

“I must say that when I got the report I was very annoyed and I have directed that this matter be thoroughly investigated. It’s still ongoing and more people definitely—because there was collusion between this officer who had been trusted and people from—some employees of the Shell One-Stop. Certainly the management have been cooperating with us and we do appreciate that. But obviously there was a breakdown in the system and we have made corrections to that, so obviously that should not reoccur again.”
