Shopkeeper fires at armed robbers
Police have added to the woes of Mark Medina, the man charged yesterday with the murder of businesswoman Cui Su Xhau. Today the twenty-three year old was additionally charged with Aggravated Burglary based on a complaint filed by a resident of Ordonez Avenue. Eighteen year old Michael Cocom told police that on Friday morning a man he recognised robbed him and two cousins at gunpoint, taking a cell phone and jewellery. The stolen items were found at Medina’s residence.
In another robbery attempt on Tuesday afternoon, the intended victim managed to chase off his three assailants, one of whom wielded a gun. The manager of Three Star Poultry on Vernon Street told police that he fired his own licensed thirty-eight revolver at the gunman who quickly fled the scene. None of the three was believed hit.
