Boots says committee hearing a sham

“The meeting was postponed based on my recommendation as a member of the committee today to ask for documentation in regards to the loan note that the Prime Minister signed, the guarantee, the audited financials from U.H.S. and any other relating documents of forward plan in regards to government and where they want to take Universal Health Services. And it was agreed by the chairman, Honourable Rodwell Ferguson, that he will go and try and get the necessary documentation. The meeting was postponed until two o’clock. The Honourable Rodwell Ferguson, the chairman, passed me about a quarter to two right up at the National Assembly and say, well I di wait for the documentation so that we can have the documentation for the meeting, not knowing that he was going straight to committee before two o’clock. By the time we di walk up the steps to go to the committee meeting one minute after two, the meeting is over. Then they say that the committee has decided. You don’t arbitrarily take away the democratic process from people that kinda way.”

“I think that the chairman really and truly took absence of leave from his senses. I don’t know what happened to ah, because to start with Stewart, the chairman have no clue—I have to be honest—in that meeting, the chairman had no clue and no kind of documentation supporting anything in regards to that resolution, and that’s a dangerous thing.”

Martinez also said that despite the clerk of the National Assembly’s assurance that public notice of the committee meeting was sent to all media houses, none could confirm receiving such information.
