San Pedro boy killed in road collision
Another traffic accident, this time in San Pedro Town, has also claimed a life. Police will more than likely bring charges against forty-two year old Eladio Balam after the vehicle he was driving hit and killed eight year old primary school student Jose Raudalez. According to reports, young Raudalez was heading home for lunch around eleven this morning when he tried to overtake a forklift driving in the airstrip area, but according to Balam, there was not enough space between his heavy vehicle and the child’s bike. It is not certain if Balam saw the child trying to overtake his vehicle and tried to stop it but he has told police that as the boy started to pass the forklift in the narrow alleyway, the bicycle handle touched the wall causing the boy to lose control. Raudalez fell and hit his head against the vehicle, leaving him unconscious. The child was rushed to the Lions Clinic, but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
