Suspects arrested in two recent shootings
In other crime news, police have made arrests in separate shootings that occurred this week. According to investigators, twenty-two year old Carl Egbert Archer is the gunman who opened fire on twenty year old Meldric Flowers and fifteen year old Michael Malic, while the two were double riding on Raccoon Street Extension on Saturday night. Archer has since been charged with murder, attempted murder, dangerous harm, and use of deadly means of harm. Flowers was declared dead at the scene but tonight Malic remains in serious condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.
Cops have also charged another man following a shooting in front of the Queen Square Market on Wednesday afternoon. Vegetable vendor Mauricio Alvarez reported to police that while standing on the street a lone gunman walked up to him and demanded money. When the victim said he had none, the armed assailant shot him. Subsequent investigations have led to the arrest of nineteen year old Ronnie Petillo of Dean Street. The accused has been charged with attempted murder, dangerous harm, and use of deadly means of harm.
