Eight guns stolen in robbery of security company
Police and the law abiding public have eight more guns in the hands of criminals to worry about. No one would speak to us at Anchor Security, but tonight the company is without a number of its firearms following a hold up at its office on East Canal in Belize City. The company’s night supervisor Robert Novelo, Sr. told police that around nine on Saturday night he was at work when the day supervisor, Philip Nicholson, came to the door and asked to let him inside.
According to Novelo, as he opened the door for Nicholson, his colleague was followed in by two men who forced themselves into the office. Once inside the men ordered that the safe be opened where they helped themselves to four, thirty-eight calibre pistols; one, nine millimetre pistol; one, twenty-two pistol; and two pump action shot guns. Authorities would not comment on whether they believe the robbery was an inside job, saying only that they are investigating.
