Agric fair draws record crowds
It was bumper to bumper traffic in Belmopan this weekend as thousands of Belizeans travelled to the capital city to attend the 2007 National Agriculture and Trade Show. According to organizers, on Saturday a record crowd of more than twenty thousand people visited the grounds while Sunday saw a whopping thirty thousand visitors braving the heat to tour the fair. In addition to the animal showcases, fruit and plant displays and local crafts, attractions included just about every type of food and drink. This year’s show was held under the theme “Do Agriculture: It makes you healthy, wealthy and wise”.
