Sunny days, particularly camps signal the beginning of summer
For the last eight years, Peter Lacey has been working with students at his annual summer programme in Belize City but this year, he is also heading north to Orange Walk. Primary school students in the two districts will get the chance to do a combination of academics and sports. Lacey says the camp will kick off next month but to secure your space, registration starts on Thursday.

“This year, I’m expanding that program up to Orange Walk; so I’m having a Belize City Summer Program and Sugar City Summer Program 2012. The Belize City Summer Program is at Holy Redeemer Parish Hall and the Sugar City Summer Program is at St. Peter’s Anglican School. The Belize City Program will run from July second to August third and the Sugar City summer program will run from July fourth to August third. Both programs are five week programs.”

“Alright. What are some of the things that the students will be covering during the summer program?”
Peter Lacey
“For the entire program, students ranging from Infant one to standard six will be getting Reading, Phonics, Creative Writing, Math, P.S.E preparation and we will be doing some sports as well.”

“So what’s the cost of the program this year?”
