Cayo murder suspect pleads guilty to manslaughter
He was charged with murder back in 2004, but today in the Supreme Court Darwin Soberanis pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter. The original charge arose from the brutal bludgeoning death of fifty-seven year old Gabriel Pinelo in his San Ignacio home on the night of October fifteenth. Pinelo’s body was found by police, who were called after the victim’s daughter came home to find the door to the house wide open. Sentencing by Justice Troadio Gonzalez is set for April twenty-seventh.
