Robbery suspect turns himself in; escaped con still out
Sheldon Burgess, the man police believe held up a delivery truck in Dangriga on Saturday, is tonight behind bars. The twenty-one year old resident of Isla Road in that Southern town turned himself in to police Tuesday evening in the company of his attorney, Antoinette Moore. Burgess had been identified when one of the victims managed to haul off his assailant’s mask when he tried to fight back during the hold-up. Burgess has been charged with robbery and dangerous harm. Meanwhile, another fugitive, Dennis Quilter, remains on the run. Quilter escaped from custody Tuesday morning in Belize City as he was being escorted to Magistrate’s Court. A two thousand five hundred dollar reward has been posted for information leading to Quilter’s recapture. If you know where he can be found please call the nearest police station.
