A weekend of fun for Police Youth Cadets
And lest we think that all police news this weekend was about crime, we are happy to report that over four hundred youths from around the country gathered Thursday through Saturday for three days of friendly sports competition as part of the Police Youth Cadet Corps annual camp. For the second time, the Dangriga contingent took top overall honours, winning first place in basketball and volleyball and scoring big in track and field. Punta Gorda won the football title. The participants, who ranged in age from eight to eighteen, were also addressed by Police Commissioner Gerald Westby, Y.F.F. Director Linsford Castillo, and Mayor of Benque Viejo Marconi Sosa.
