B.T.L. launches new directory for 2007
In unrelated news regarding the telecommunications company, today B.T.L. officially launched its telephone directory for 2007. The book is being hailed as a major milestone for the company because it was produced in-house. Previously, publication of the directory was outsourced, but when that contract came to an end last year, B.T.L. created a new department, Directory Services, to take over the responsibility. According to Manager Suzette Tillett, she and her team pulled out all stops to make the new directory as attractive as possible, starting with the cover page. The picture of Carrie Bow Caye in the waters of Southern Belize was taken by local photographer Tony Rath and Tillett says she has had to convince more than a few people that the scene was not digitally enhanced. This afternoon she shared some of the other unique features found inside the new phonebook.

“We’ve taken full advantage of all the colours that we can possibly use in all the areas that we can possibly use it. One of the things that is new in this book is that for the first time we are now listing all the business customers in our yellow pages. So you can find the listing for any business customer basically that has a phone with B.T.L under whatever specific business tat they do in the yellow pages.”

“Now that it’s being printed in house, do you think that you will be able to put the book out a little bit earlier? I know that’s been a concern I think for some time.”
Suzette Tillett
“Right, that’s been a concern for as well and one of the things that’s why it has been pushed to April. And actually we had a late start last year so we considered we’ve done really well in that short space of time to have selled and everything in one so we are hoping that this year will be much better in terms of timing, in terms of getting the books to customers earlier. With regards to April, we chose April but it’s still April to April so that’s an entire year, the customer still gets a year.”
The new telephone directories are available at B.T.L. Customer Service centres countrywide.
