Suspect arrested in Dangriga murder
Two years ago he was charged with the murder of Dangriga resident Michael Palacio, but when witnesses failed to show up to testify, the case against thirty year old Sherwin Baltazar evaporated and he was subsequently released from Hattieville prison. On Sunday morning, however Baltazar’s freedom came to an abrupt and vicious end. Dangriga authorities say around three a.m. they were called out to an area on Canal Street where they found Baltazar’s lifeless body. It had multiple chop wounds to the neck, chest and both arms. Police investigations have led them to arrest Rodayne Diego. Diego is Palacio’s brother and it is strongly believed he killed Baltazar in an act of revenge.
