Second suspect charged in Sherwin Locke murder
A second suspect has been arrested and charged with murder four days after the shooting death of a Belize City man. According to police, twenty-two year old Lincoln Sabido was an accomplice in the killing of Sherwin Locke. Sabido appeared before Magistrate Albert Hoare this morning and was formally charged with the crime and has been remanded to Hattieville Prison until April twenty-third. On Friday, the same charge was filed against Sabido’s alleged co-conspirator, twenty-eight year old Altreed Williams. While no plea was taken for either defendant, both men have maintained their innocence. Locke was shot three times in the head on Thursday morning. Eyewitnesses say the victim was in an area near Electric Avenue when he was chased by a masked gunman and then shot from close range. He was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
