Skeleton, decomposing corpse found in separate incidents
As we said, Sunday night’s double homicide was the second time detectives had to be dispatched to the Haulover Creek area as earlier in the evening a partly decomposed body was also found on the same feeder road. The victim is described as a man of slim built dressed in long jeans, a black t-shirt and white socks. A letter in his pocket opened “Dear Johnathon.” Initial findings indicate the deceased was stabbed in the throat and left to die.
Meanwhile, a separate but similar discovery has Orange Walk police scanning missing person reports in order to identify a skeleton found in the Mampushole area. Investigators say the victim was female and was last wearing a pink blouse, blue jeans, and a pair of black and red slippers. Officers are hoping that jewellery, a pair of glasses, and a set of dentures will aid in identifying the deceased. Because of pieces of the jewellery included the letter “J”, investigators are in the process of verifying whether the victim may be Janet Rivers Myvette of Belize City, who has been missing since December. Tonight authorities are asking anyone who might be able to assist in identifying the victim to please contact the nearest station or Crimestoppers.
