Second time around means no bail for accused bike jacker

An accused bike thief out on bail has been charged once more for a similar crime. According to court reports, this morning thirty year old Welta Usher appeared before Magistrate Aretha Ford where he was arraigned on one count of robbery. Usher was arrested after Andrew Barnett reported to police that around noon on Sunday he was riding his beach cruiser on Raccoon Street Extension when a man armed with a knife walked up to him and demanded his bike and a backpack containing food. Barnett complied but immediately called the police. Usher, who is already out on bail for the theft of another bicycle in a separate incident, was not so lucky this time and was remanded to Hattieville Prison until his next court date on April twentieth.
