Belize Bank promotion offers cool prizes
There was more than just cash coming from the Belize Bank today as it held the first of three raffles under its consumer loans program. It’s the bank’s way of encouraging customers to apply for the loans, which come with customized terms to suit varied budgets. The prizes will bring home entertainment, educational assistance or some extra funds to winners. We found out more from Misty Michael, the Belize Bank’s Marketing Manager.

“To be eligible to win in the raffle, customers had to have applied for a loan between April and August and for every thousand dollars they borrowed, they received one raffle ticket to enter into the raffle. In today’s raffle, we had a thirty-two inch flat screen TV, a Dell Laptop computer with a color printer, two five hundred dollar savings accounts and three consolation prizes, which are back to school gift baskets. The first prize winner was from the Corozal Branch, and it was Lydia Morales, second prize was Malik Augustine from Belize City, third was Luisita Graniel from San Pedro, fourth was Sherill Young and the consolation prizes went to Elyon Tillett from San Pedro, Julio Tzib from San Ignacio and Alicia Young from Belmopan. We’re very focused on promoting consumer loans, whether it be a traditional loan or a credit card and we just figured that having the raffles were a good of giving costumers an incentive to come in an borrow.”

“And what kind of prizes are we looking at for those?”
Misty Michael
“Christmas, we have a lot of household appliances and we also have some other savings account prizes and then in March, it’s more geared toward the Easter season so there’s a weekend getaway, other cash prizes and I think we also have some smaller appliances that will also be raffled then as well.”
The promotion started in April of this year and runs until the end of March 2010.
