Murderer sentenced to life in prison
Following a guilty verdict in the Supreme Court last Thursday, today a convicted killer was sentenced to life behind bars. Justice Adolph Lucas handed down that fate to twenty year old Michael Fox just before three this afternoon. Fox had been found culpable of the fatal shooting of twenty one year old Sydney Bradley, which occurred on June ninth, 2005. Appearing at today’s mitigation hearing to beg for the court’s leniency was Fox’s grandmother and aunt who told the judge that the defendant had been a good child. The women then pleaded to Lucas not to sentence Fox to death. That sentiment was echoed by Fox himself who said, “Your honor, I would like you to have mercy upon me and not impose the death penalty.” Upon hearing the court’s order of a life sentence, Fox said nothing and simply extended his arms for the handcuffs to be replaced. Tonight we understand that his attorney, Michael Peyrefitte, intends to file an appeal.
