Robber caught fleeing crime scene
One of two men who robbed a King’s Park shop has been arrested leaving the scene of the crime. Twenty-two year old Jion Bernard, a resident of Lovely Lane, has been charged with robbery after police chased him down following a report of a hold-up at Tang’s Store on Vasquez Avenue. Proprietor Zan Chee Chen told police that around eight Monday night a man entered the store with a handgun and demanded money. He was soon joined by an accomplice. They made off with over six hundred dollars in cash, three hundred in coins, and fifteen hundred in phone cards. Police arrived quickly and saw Bernard running from the area. When he was apprehended he had sixty-five phone cards, one hundred and fifty-eight dollars in coins, and a toy gun.
