Suspect charged in Wednesday’s killing

The man accused in Wednesday afternoon’s fatal shooting was this morning charged for his crime. Twenty-four year old Keon Myvette Williams, also known as “Duppy”, appeared with his attorney Simeon Sampson where he was arraigned in Belize City Magistrate’s Court for murder. Myvette was arrested shortly after thirty-two year old Michael “Papa” Gladden was shot in the head just two houses away from his Castle Street home. The two men were neighbours. Eyewitnesses in the area at the time told News Five that the men were involved in a fight shortly before the deadly shot was fired. Chief Magistrate Margaret Gabb has adjourned the matter until the ninth of March.
