Two arrested for Adolphus holdup
Another man has been arrested and charged following Monday evening’s armed hold-up of former prison superintendent turned security consultant, Bernard Adolphus. Twenty-five year old Richard Russell joins twenty-one-year old Herman Elijio as the two men accused of pointing an Uzi at Adolphus as he exited the offices of Belize Unit Trust on Central American Boulevard with the day’s deposits. Adolphus put up a fight and the thieves only managed to make off with a packet of cheques. The suspects appeared this morning before Chief Magistrate Margaret Gabb where they both pled not guilty to the charges. Russell’s attorney, Dickie Bradley, asked the court to adjourn the matter until tomorrow when he will argue that his client has been falsely accused and the real culprit is still at large. The case will resume tomorrow morning when the victim is expected to be in court to clear up any identification discrepancies.
