Moneychanger wounded in Corozal robbery
A Belizean moneychanger working at the Santa Elena border in Corozal is lucky to be alive tonight following an armed robbery on Wednesday night. According to police reports, twenty-eight year old Wilbert Linares was working at the border around seven last night when a man carrying a handgun walked up to him and demanded his money pouch. Linares put up a fight but during the scuffle the gun went off. When police arrived at the scene, they found Linares suffering from wounds to the right side of his chest and left arm. He was rushed to the Corozal Hospital but has since been transported to the K.H.M.H. for treatment. Police have detained two men for questioning but up to news time tonight no arrests had been made.
