American Global Med distances itself from phantom school

Story PictureThere are more details that are unraveling about the fictional medical university on the internet known as Charleston College of Medicine. The address provided is Dry Street, Belmopan. News Five has been able to confirm that there is an accredited school on Dry Creek Road which is the American Global University School of Medicine which also has campuses in the United States and Curacao. What we have also uncovered is that it was no coincidence that the phantom school resembled American Global. News Five Jose Sanchez spoke to the President of American Global’s School of Medicine Dr. Malik Soudah, who wanted to make it clear that his institution was a legitimate college. He said that it was former employees of the school, Rod Tomczak and Philip Roundtree who were responsible for Charleston. In fact, Soudah says that not only did he fire Tomczak, he also reported the phantom med school to the Ministry of Health.

“We entered negotiation with the government of Belize at the end of 04’. And 05’ we obtained a charter from the government of Belize signed by myself and the Minister of Education November second. In 2005 we started operations in Belmopan September fourth 2006. We do have a basic science program. We finish the basic science in the country of Belize and our students have the opportunity to go overseas to finish their clinicals in the United States or the United Kingdom or any other places around the world. So our operation is legit, our charter is a legit charter signed by the government of Belize. We’ve been accredited by the Belize Medical Council.”

“Rod Tomczak and Phil Rountree, what relation do they have with the school if any?”

Via Phone: Dr. Malik Soudah
“The two gentlemen you mentioned, they were previous employees of the American Global school of Medicine. Their service has been terminated earlier this year around January of this year and we have no affiliation or relationship with their new institution or the scam they’re trying to pull of.”

Jose Sanchez
“Do you think it was a coincidence that their fictional university’s address is also Dry Creek Road?”

Via Phone: Dr. Malik Soudah
“Um, you know they were previous employees, they needed some kind of a base in the country of Belize and they were just malicious and they had some bad intentions to hurt the school. They used our box number, our address. Immediately after we were informed of their intentions we submitted an official document to the Ministry of Education informing them that these two gentlemen are using our mailbox and our address to run this new entity. This information was forwarded to the Ministry of Education immediately after we were informed about the suspicious activities.”

Classes for students of American Global University School of Medicine will resume in September.
