CITCO and Rotary help out Calvary Temple School
Everyday schools across the country have to find creative ways to raise money and stretch limited resources. Today, however, Calvary Temple Primary received a little ease in the form of twenty-five fans, books, Bristol boards, and other stationery courtesy of the Belize City Council and the Rotary Club.
Georgett Barkley, Principal, Calvary Temple School
“As you can see, the heat is setting in now and I know the fans will be of great importance to the staff as well as the students. What happen, our classrooms are very, very packed and it’s very hot right now, so I am sure the fans will do justice to the atmosphere in the classroom, hence the classrooms becoming more conducive to learning.”
Hyacinth Latchman Cuellar, Councillor, Social Services
“There was an appeal by Calgary Temple, they needed some supplies, specifically they needed fans, so I immediately got in contact with councillor Esquivel who has a very good working relationship with the Rotary Club of Belize. They immediately got together, got some money, and they made it possible for us to get the fans. Apart from the fans we have some other school supplies that the children are well in need of, so we would like personally to say a big thank you to the Rotary Club of Belize for making this possible for Calvary Temple.”
Calvary Temple Primary School currently has an enrolment of two hundred and forty-eight students.
