Ladyville mother looking for driver who hit son
Tonight a Ladyville family is asking the driver of a Toyota pickup truck to hand himself in to police after he knocked down their loved one over the weekend. Fifteen year old Graciano Chuc suffered injuries to his body when he was hit off his bicycle while on Perez Road on Saturday night. This afternoon Sharmaine Borland recounted her son’s story of the incident.

“He looked down the street and he saw a vehicle coming a good ways form him. So he was attempting to cross the street and all he felt was the vehicle hit him form behind. It hit the bicycle and he said he flew on top of the hood, and the vehicle was still going, because he said the man was driving very fast. And he rolled off the hood and landed on the side of the vehicle and fell on the ground. But he was holding his hand towards his head that he didn’t hurt his head and the vehicle stopped about twenty five yards away from him. And he got up and the man reversed and he came out and asked him if he was okay and he told him that he couldn’t breathe and that his neck and back was hurting. So the man asked him if he wanted to go to the hospital and he told him he have to go and look fi his ma first, so the man said okay. So the man took out a piece of paper and wrote down my son’s name and phone number – said he was gonna call back in half an hour time. So he fixed the bicycle handle and my son said he took his time and rode home because he said his whole body felt numb.”
“Up until now we haven’t heard a word from the man. We don’t know what colour the vehicle was, we know that it was a pickup truck. We have the mirror, the police has that. They have a few people that they suspect but we don’t sure if the person is a resident Ladyville so that is the problem. My thing is, it’s an accident that could happen to anybody, but it’s the fact that for responsibility sake, you know, and my son is in a lot of pain.”
“My plea is just to the person who hit him if he could get in contact with me and, you know, so that we could work it out.”
