Annual S.C.A. fair scheduled for Saturday
Across the country, resource strapped educational institutions must find creative ways to convince the public to part with its money. Usually that means a beauty pageant, but as News Five’s Kendra Griffith reports, a fair is a close second.

This afternoon the St. Catherine Academy school grounds was a bee hive of activity as students and faculty prepared for their annual Valentine’s Fair.
Salome Tillett, Principal, S.C.A.
“We are very excited and we see it’s a nice and sunny day and we’re excited to be able to offer the general public an afternoon and a night of entertainment that’s wholesome safe and fun.”
“We have a wide variety of food, catering to a variety of diets. We have games, catering to the very young and very old. Our very popular dunking booth will be on. We have the dance for the young people and many other things.”
Visitors to the fair grounds will also be able to stop on by Cupid’s Love Shop, to pick up their valentine’s gift.

“It’s our major fundraiser for the year and we’ve targeted the proceeds from this year and maybe for the next few years to assist in our building. We have multi-purpose building and classroom expansion in the planning stages, and so all our proceeds are earmarked for that.”
The fair starts at four and runs until eleven-thirty Saturday night.
