Mom appeals for help in finding missing daughter

Story PictureReports of missing persons are nothing out of the ordinary, in Belize or anywhere else, but today we spoke to one mother who appears to have good reason for concern. Gesenia Cook last saw her five year old daughter, Zoe, on Friday. That afternoon the child’s father, U.S. citizen Donald Richard Cook, of La Democracia picked up Zoe from St. John’s Anglican School for the weekend under the terms of the couple’s separation agreement. Zoe was supposed to be returned Sunday evening, but at news time Gesenia had still not heard a thing.

Gesenia Cook, Mother of Missing Girl
“I just want to let the public know that I care for my daughter a lot, I love her. The last time I get to see her was on Friday and the father came and picked her up, took her, and Sunday he was supposed to bring her back, which he never did. I tried to call him many times, left a message on his phone, and he didn’t return my call. I haven’t heard anything from him. I just wish if I get a chance at least to have anybody cooperate and whosoever, somebody knows anything out there to please let me know. I need to know how is my daughter; I want my daughter to come back.”

Gesenia believes that her husband may have attempted to carry Zoe to the United States. If you have seen either Rick Cook or Zoe or can provide information on their whereabouts please call Gesenia Cook at 620-2999.
