Mother of kidney patient pleas for help
Having a child usually brings changes to a person’s life. This is true for twenty-one year old Tifarah Castillo, and the changes she is experiencing are taking a serious toll on her health. After giving birth to her second child, Castillo’s two kidneys stopped functioning and she was diagnosed with Chronic Renal Failure. What this means is that she needs hemo-dialysis treatment five times a week at five hundred and fifty dollars per session – and that can be for the rest of her life if she does not get a kidney transplant. To add to her woes, Castillo is also in urgent need of blood donors. Her mother, Herbel Thompson, stopped by our studios today to make plea for help to the public.
