Caye Caulker men hospitalized after knife fight

Tonight two Caye Caulker residents are recovering from stab wounds at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital following a fight between them over the weekend. According to police, forty-eight year old Delon Chaplain and twenty-seven year old Ervin Cruz tried to kill each other on Saturday. The motive is still unclear and the weapons the men used have not been found but investigators say the duo started to scuffle around five in the evening and when the dust settled both men were bleeding profusely from their abdomens. Cruz is considered to be in a critical condition while Chaplin’s injury is classified as serious. Both men remain under police guard at the K.H.M.H. but have been put in separate rooms.
