Lord, Hafiz sworn in as Supreme Court Justices

Downtown Belize City ground to a halt this morning as the country’s legal community gathered for the official opening ceremonies of the Supreme Court. The annual event is often dominated by pageantry but as News Five’s Janelle Chanona reports, this year’s function belonged to the new faces that will guide the course of justice in Belize.

This morning, the ladies and gentlemen of the Bench and Bar participated in the annual activities to mark the opening of the legal year 2007.

But following the trademark traditions, the first order of business today was the official swearing in of Minnet Hafiz Bertram and Herbert Lord as Justices of the Belize Supreme Court.
