One sportscaster; amazing Monday night sports highlights
Good evening, I’m James Adderley and welcome to this portion of Sports Monday.
Week thirteen of the PLB Season found FC Belize needing a win to keep their playoff hopes alive as they hosted Juventus of Orange Walk inside the MCC Grounds yesterday. Thus it’s no surprise that FC Belize roars out of the starting blocks in search of the three points and it might have been a perfect start when Michael Hernandez fires this shot at goal. Amir Leiva punches it out; the ball bounces onto the crossbar and comes back to Khambril Blease who smacks it home but the referee rules for corner kick instead. At the other end of the field, Norman Tilliman Pipersburgh fires this bouncer at goal only to see Glenford Chimilio make the stop. It’s Tilliman again; this time looking to score off the set piece but it’s right at the keeper, Glenford Chimilio. At the fortieth minute, Avian Crawford picks out Christobal Gilharry who controls with a chest kill and then fires a right foot volley that gives FC Belize a 1-zip lead. Juventus looks for the equalizer off this corner kick; Jian Tech keeps it alive off the defensive header to Osman Duran who misses the target from close range.
In the second half action, Michael Hernandez outruns Gilardo Cervantes to fire this left foot which inches outside the far upright. At the seventy-fifth minute, Avian Crawford again works his magic to set up Michael Hernandez who smashes it home for the 2-zip FC lead. Khambril Blease then gets two chances on this press to make it a 3-zip lead for his team but is first denied by Amir Leiva and then by Jian Tech. John King also gets the opportunity to extend the lead but is failed by the final touch. FC Belize gets the 2-zip W to keep their playoff hopes alive.
