O.W. domestic brawler hit with slew of charges

It was a case of domestic violence that, fortunately, did not reach the point of homicide, but an Orange Walk husband who allegedly attacked his wife and two police officers who came to her aid, has been charged with a long list of offences. Twenty-eight year old Eduardo Moralez of Guinea Grass Village was arraigned for the crimes of Harm, Aggravated Assault and Threat of Death against his wife Cynthia Moralez, Wounding of Police Constable Kenny Cano, and Harm and Aggravated Assault of P.C. Joaquin Castillo. He was also charged with Resisting Arrest and Assaulting a Police Officer. Police say that Moralez was shot in the leg by Castillo after he attacked his partner, hitting Cano in the head with a hammer. The two officers were called out to the Moralez residence around four on New Year’s morning when Cynthia told them that her drunken spouse was threatening her. Moralez will cool his heels in the Orange Walk lock-up until his next hearing on January ninth.
