Teenager killed in Western Highway accident
A traffic accident on the Western Highway this afternoon has resulted in the death a teenager. Police reports are that around one thirty today, thirty-nine year old Felipe Flores was driving his pickup towards Belize City but between mile thirty-seven and thirty-eight, he knocked down a boy. Flores says the child stepped from behind a bus parked on the side of the highway and walked right in the path of his Chevy. The victim has since been identified as thirteen year old Marvin Alexander Tobar of St. Matthew’s Village. Tobar received severe head and body injuries and was declared dead at the scene. His body has been taken to the Western Regional Hospital where it awaits a post-mortem. Up to news time, no charges had been brought against Felipe Flores.
