Roving hands earn molester 18 months in jail

After what seems like months of seeing accused sexual predators set free for lack of proper prosecution the tide seems to have turned … at least for this week. Yesterday David McKoy received an eight year sentence for attempted rape and today another man with more lust than brains is spending the night behind bars. This afternoon, twenty six year old Salvadoran Isaias Lemus of a mile eight address appeared before Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord where he decided to plead guilty to a charge of indecent assault following an incident last month in which he fondled a young woman on a bus. He had originally been charged with aggravated assault and faced a three year minimum sentence but due to the plea bargain Lemus was fined one thousand five hundred dollars. Because he was unable to pay the money immediately, he was ordered to spend the next eighteen months in jail. On November twenty-seventh, a twenty year old woman reported to police that after she boarded a National Transport bus that was enroute from Belize City to Hattieville, the man seated next to her suddenly pulled up her skirt and started to fondle her. As the vehicle reached the police check point on the Western Highway, the victim reported the incident to the cops, who detained Lemus and remanded him in custody until his court appearance today. Lord further ruled that following the completion of Lemus’s sentence he will be deported back to El Salvador.
