Escaped convict dies after return to prison

A man, who escaped from a prison bus last month but later turned himself in, has died–perhaps as the result of drinking contaminated water while on the run. Although the results of a post mortem have not yet reached News Five, the sister of deceased prisoner Casey Allen says medical authorities suspect that Allen may have died from a rat-borne disease. Allen told his sister that while hiding out in a swamp near Lord Ridge Cemetery following his escape, he drank some of the swamp water, only to discover a dead rat lying beside him. Casey became seriously ill at Hattieville Prison on Monday, was taken to the K.H.M.H. and died on Wednesday.
