Firefighters, oil company simulate gas station blaze

Traffic along the northern highway came to a stand still at mile two on the northern highway. The disruption was caused after the driver of this truck mistakenly opened the wrong valve while discharging fuel at the Esso Coral Grove gas station. The flammable liquid spilled onto the ground.
Initially there was some confusion and very real concern about what was unfolding but it did not take long for those present to realize that what they were witnessing was only just an exercise. According to Assistant Fire Chief, Ted Smith the purpose of the simulation is two fold. One, to improve fire safety standards–in this case Esso
